Cecil Hamilton has been released from Port Perry Hospital and Mrs. Louise Wright has been transferred from Port Perry Hospital to the Nursing Home. Cartwright's oldest citizen, Mrs. Ethel (Greer) Bryan who for many, many years lived on the First Concession Cartwright passed away in Oshawa Hospital. She lived in the Port Perry Nursing Home for several years. She was in her 99th year. Sympathy is extended to her family family and other relatives. Sympathy is also extended extended to Audrey and Walter Wright on the passing of Audrey's sister-in-law Mrs. Floyd Stinson of Yelverton. The Youth Group enjoyed enjoyed a Hayride at the home of Lynn and Brent McLaughlin on Sunday evening as the closing event of the season. The St. John's Anglican Church along with its sister Church of Port Perry enjoyed their annual Rogation Service at the farm home of Lawrence and Linda McLaughlin Sunday morning. At this special outdoors service the animals, the crops and machinery are all blessed. The member of the Guiding and Scouting Association have really been busy and involved in the Cuboree at Cann- ington and were successful successful In bringing home the trophy. Retiring Pathfinder leaders, Brenda Bryant and Beth Schryburt were presented with long stemmed carnations and retiring Commissioner Joan Bayley presented with a gift. Once again the organization is looking looking for a Commissioner and several leaders par- ticlarly Pathfinders. On Saturday evening the annual annual Father and Son Banquet was held in the Recreation Centre. Among the awards, Chris Bryant was presented with the Annual Annual Blair Graham Memorial Award by Harvey Graham. On Friday evening a group of Guides and Pathfinders along with three leaders camped at Canada's Wonderland and spent the day enjoying enjoying the many rides and other features of Wonderland. Next Sunday evening a Special Awards Ceremony Ceremony will be held at the Blackstock United Church at 7 p.m. when many special awards including including All Round Cords and Canada Cord, The public is cordially invited. The annual Sunday School anniversary service service was held on Sunday at Blackstock United Church. The service was conducted by Superintendent Superintendent Ruby VanCamp. OBITUARY ANDREW SUTCH SENIOR The death of a well known and respected citizen of the area, Andrew "Andy" Sutch Senior, aged 70, occurred suddenly on Wednesday, May 22nd, 1985 at a cottage in Ennismore. Born in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan, and educated at Leask, Sask., he was married to Mary Fajt on February 19th,1938. A self employed tobacco farmer for 30 years, he retired 11 years ago. He had resided at R.R. 3, Pontypool for 37 years and had previously resided in Welland. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, a former member of Woodmen's Woodmen's and Masonic Lodge, a committee man on tobacco board, an organizer for the Farmers' Union. He also organized organized the Terry Fox Walk- a-thon in his area, and served three years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Left to mourn his passing arc his wife Mary, his son David, Andrew Jr. and Ronald, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Steve and John Sutch, of Peterborough and Joe Sutch of Welland. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Schnider, Paradise Paradise Hill, Sask., a twin brother Louis of Welland and a brother Mike of Port Colborne. Prayers were recited by the Reverend Father Frank Mi- helic, at the Morris Funeral Chapel on Friday. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Church, Bowman- ville on Saturday, with Father Frank officiating, Pallbearers were nephews Steve, Eddie, IæsIIc, Martin, Vincent, Patrick and Paul Sutch. A floral token received in his memory was from EDS of Canada and donations from General Motors employees in the paint shop ami mainte ■ nance denarlments, the Mill- brook Oldlimers hockey club and the Miniver's Oldthners.
