News and Happenings from Starkville On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Trim had all of their family home for Father's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Souch, Brian and Blaine with Mr. and Mrs. John Cartwright, Chris, Greg and Katie were luncheon guests on Sunday of Marg's parents Rev. and Mrs. Frank Whitely at their cottage on Stoney Lake near Lakefield. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Fonk and Peter spent the day in Oshawa. In the afternoon, they enjoyed watching the Fiesta Parade featuring the ethnic communities communities and their bands and later were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Butch McMahon, Cori and Mark. On Sunday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Caswell hosted a dinner party to celebrate Father's Father's Day and a birthday party. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Higgins, Mary and Sarah, Killaloe, Miss Tracey McBride of north Orono, Mr. Jeff Caswell, Mr. and Mrs. Llew Hallowell, Mr. Jim Hal- lowell and friend and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Caswell, Marisha and Shaughn of Newcastle. Later, all enjoyed the Father's Day turkey turkey supper held at the Orono Arena. Mr. and Mrs. John Windatt spent Sunday and Monday visiting the Botanical Gardens at Burlington, a flower nursery nursery at Elora near Fergus and other places of interest. Church and Sunday school services were held at Shiloh United on Sunday with a smaller smaller than usual crowd. This was the last service for our supply minister, Mrs. Lynda King. Mrs. Bev Higgins sang a solo accompanying herself on her guitar and later, Bev and her 3 year old daughter Mary sang a duet. This music was much enjoyed by everyone. POLICE BRIEFS A two-vehicle accident on Highway 401 Friday evening evening sent three persons to hospital. Ontario Provincial Police at Newcastle report that Venetia Rhule, 52, of Mississauga, Mississauga, and Suzanne Sable, 25, of Oshawa, were listed in critical condition when admitted to hospital.
