) Section Two The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, September 4,1985 5 Results of Bowmanville Horticultural Society's Flower Show Bowmanville Horticultural Society staged a most interesting interesting flower and vegetable show at Memorial Park Clubhouse Clubhouse on August 14th with more than 275 entries in the senior and junior categories. Dick Gibbs won the Brook- dale Kingsway award for most points in the show, with 66, followed by Merle Slute with 53 points to win the Dennis Pizzeria prize. Mr. Slute also won the Blackburn plaque for best arrangement and the Ruth Tink trophy in memory of husband • Clarence award for most points in dahlia class. Mr. Gibbs took the Hooper's Jewellery trophy for most points in vegetables and the Frank Real Estate trophy for best vegetable specimen. Other special award winners were Peggy Darch, winning the Flying Dutchman award for best specimen in show, Bertha Barnes winning the Visual Arts Centre award for best house plant, and Christine Gill of Oshawa, winning the President's trophy for most points by a new exhibitor.
