St. Jerome's College was founded in 1864 near St. Agatha, Ontario, approximately approximately 10 km west of Waterloo. Waterloo. Letter to The Editor In the Yukon there are many unions of native people, who are largely Indians, with white people. This is a source of both financial and spiritual problems. The children leave home from September to June to go to school. The native children receive full Government Government funding for school whereas children with a white father have to pay for their, tuition. Next door to the Marshes a communal building was built , to shelter these rejected children. As a result the Marshes became unofficial grandparents and say they still hear from some of them. They proudly showed a picture of a young single mother who with their encouragement studied and now is a social worker with her native people. Now there is a subsidized school teaching the native language and as a second language English. Bishop Marsh was wearing a hand moulded silver cross with a gold nugget in' its centre,This was given to him by the Yukon people. An inscription inscription on the accompanying accompanying plaque reads "May this emblem of our salvation rest always on your heart."
