Town Would Like Board to Collect Taxes The Town of Newcastle is in favour of school boards collecting their own taxes. Council endorsed a resolution resolution from the Village of Millbrook that the Ministry of Education be approached to put the responsibility of school tax collection , with the school boards. The resolution explains that municipalities have to use ! their personnel and financial financial resources to collect the tax for the school boards and are not compensated for it. In addition, the resolution resolution states, "the school boards are seen as being not responsible nor accountable for their share of the taxes collected." The resolution was also endorsed by Durham Regional Regional Council on October 18.
