The fire was reported at 34 Oatley Cr., Newcastle Village. Village. There were no injuries and minimal smoke damage. A Bowmanville resident reported to the Durham Re-. f ional Police that an un- nown suspect had cut down a tree from his front lawn. The incident took place Sunday, Sunday, December 23. Cindy Morton, a member of St. Paul's United Church, portrayed Mary during the outdoor "Living Nativity" held at St. Paul's on Friday, Dec. 21. Despite the rainy weather, about 100 people joined together to watch the scene and sing carols. The program was repeated on Saturday, December December 22, to an even larger crowd. The annual outdoor program is intended to help the community reflect upon the meaning of Christmas.
