It was a hard-fought contest, with plenty of scoring chances on both sides. Esso goals were scored by Andrew Laton (2), Brock Baker, Colin Maude and David Hamum. Assists went to Ryan McKnight, David Har- num and Andrew Laton. Final score was Geranium 7, Esso 5. On Saturday, November 9, 401 Esso came back with a strong game against J&J Sharpening to win their fifth straight league game. Esso took the lead in the first on goals by Luke Denison and David Hamum, with both assists assists to defenceman Michael Harper. The second period was all Esso, with four unanswered goals and a great performance by goaltcnder Andrew Laton to keep the opposition off the scoreboard. Five minutes into the period, winger Kevin Kennedy Kennedy connected after a scramble scramble in front of the net, assisted by Luke Denison and Nick Swcrdfeger. The IOOF pce- wce selects were set to play their first game as a team since tryouts. With one practice as a team under their belt, the coaching staff of Rod Kearney, Scott Brunt and Chris Hall and the trainer Rick Powell were a little little skeptical as to what the game would be like. The opposition was from Trenton and they proved to be a good match as the IOOF pee- wees fell short by a 4-1 score. Red Wings. The IOOF boys were again victorious. Jon Noble opened the scoring scoring on a smooth passing play with Rob Jeffers. Jon did it again in the second period, after after Phil Gushulak fed him a pass. Jon helped Mike out on his goal after Ryan Brannigan fed it to Jon. It ended 3-0 for IOOF. Sunday, November 3, was a day for travelling. Lakefield was the scene for this game. This was a hard-fought and well played game, with the IOOF boys edging Lakefield by a score of 3-2. Darryl Cook came out flying flying early, with Bowmanville's first goal just six minutes into the game. Rob Jeffers got the assist. In the second period, Lake- field tied it. The third period saw the greatest amount of action. action. Lakefield found the score- sheet first, making it 2-1. After rcc-uiting the assistance of Jon Noble and Tyler Boulianne, Travis slammed home the tying tying goal. This fired up the Bowmanville team and a win was inevitable.
