Though surprised, Reverend Clappison Clappison thanked everyone for such a thoughtful gift and he had enjoyed his time here. Everyone was invited downstairs for ice-cream and a pretty decorated cake (made by Elaine Hines) and all enjoyed a social time together. Barbecue Party Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bartolomeo, Kirby were in charge of the cooking of tasty hamburgers and hotdogs last Wednesday evening. A good crowd on hand in main hall of Orono United church to devour the goodies, plus lots of assorted salads and desserts. . Before the supper, our own stage band "rendered excellent music, group included Carman White, Sax Carlos Tamblyn, Cornet, James Lowery, sax, Martha Farrow Piano, Doreen Lowery on drums. Reverend Clappison gave blessing and a fine time of food and fellowship much enjoyed. Following meal, Isabelle as chairperson chairperson called meeting to order and welcomed everyone. A fine program of music by band, solo by Stella Car- sen, accompanied on piano by Joyce Gray, a fine recitation by Alan Lee "Hands", sing along by everyone led by Bob Bolton, with Arlene at piano, reading by Thelma Gilbank and Isabelle Isabelle and more band music concluded a very enjoyable evening. Our thanks to all who helped make our party a real success! One of these is headed by Rick Gay who is wearing the dark glasses in the middle of this photo and is almost surrounded by his family and friends. A few minutes after this photo was taken, he and his youngest won a mixed generation race. Together with the assistance from Seventh Day Adventists Adventists Social Services and The Salvation Salvation Army, Emergency Service, as well as the generosity of local citizens, citizens, these folks have been quickly set up again. Our gratitude to all who assisted at the Cliffcrest Cleaners fire - their help was much appreciated. A special thank you to Mayor Diane Hamre and Councillors, and Red Cross volunteers, for their help with the flag-raising on March 2. Once again, our appreciation to all who assisted with the Flower Sale at the Miracle Mart Mall in March - their sales experience was invaluable. Thanks also to those who have made contributions to the Sickroom Equipment Loan Service. This past year, 24 pieces were loaned out.
