Durham Region will receive a special Community Planning Grant (CPG) of $50,000 to help complete a Lake Ontario waterfront plan for the area, Municipal Affairs Minister Ed Philip announced today. While the CPG program itself is under review, a few high priority projects projects in Ontario communities are receiving receiving funding now to plan more effectively effectively for long-term economic development. The region is using the funds to conduct a study into long-term development development potential for the waterfront area in a way that protects and preserves preserves the environment.
