After getting the season off to a slow start with a single win and a tie in their first five contests, contests, Geranium Homes have stormed back with three strong decisions in a row to improve their record to 4-3-1. On November 20, against T-Mac Insulation, Geranium Homes came out strong, backed by some solid goaltending goaltending by Colin Bourke-Lycett. Strong games by T-Mac's Robbie Ouimet (goaltender),. In the opening game, versus Hutton Transport, Geranium jumped out to an early lead just 1:16 into the game, and increased their lead to 3-0 before the end of two periods. But Hutton fought their way back with two goals in the third on goals from Brent Tansley and Scott Maxwell Maxwell before Geranium tallied two more of their own for a final score of 5-2. In the second match of the day, Geranium faced stiff competition from Carnation Florists. Once again Geranium jumped out in front with three first period goals and a single marker in the second for a 4-0 lead af- Hydro Union Atoms Beat In Overtime ter two periods. But Carnation took advantage in the third period when Geranium appeared to be coasting on the four-goal lead, and roared back with three goals by J.J. T-Mac Insulation Oldtimers defeated defeated Rice Lake Oiler oldtimers on November November 23 by a score of 8-1, backed by stellar goaltending of Ken Sherwood. Sherwood. Single markers were scored by Glen Rice and Mike Newer. On Saturday, November 27, we played in the Bewdley tournament. The first game result was a hard- fought, 4-1 victory over Clinic Pharmacy. Pharmacy. The second game was a fastskating, fastskating, close-checldng encounter in which we came out a 3-1 winner over the Whitby Old Pests. The third game was the 'A' Division final against The Heroes from the Rice Lake area and they outskated and ou thus tied us at every opportunity, and skated away with a 3-1 victory. Goal-scorers were Wayne Bradley with two, Ken Hammond with two, Phil Solomon with two, and single markers were scored by Tom Fennel and Glen Rice. Dan Wilcox, was outstanding in goal . during all three tournament games. En-Pro Associates Reach Finals The Major Peewee Toros have shown they are a team to be reckoned with as they played five exciting games of hockey in the Pickering tournament. Every player, from goal- tenders to defence and forwards gave 100%, only to come up a little short in the final game against a much larger team from Peterborough. The heartbreaker came after a three-goal effort by Hydro's Dave Lammers, who picked up tournament MVP honors. In'the 'A' championship, Hydro fell behind early, but went ahead on Lammers' first two goals two minutes apart in the first period. Hydro took the lead with a pretty goal by Jamie Griffin, assisted by Brandon Buckley. But'with less than two minutes to play, Baltimore slipped one past Hydro's Hydro's all-star goalie Robbie Weir to tie the game at 6-6. Weir held off the home snipers in the first overtime, but was beaten by a near perfect shot from the faceoff circle circle just 37 seconds into the second overtime.
