1 1 1 I il il s Brochures Help Families Fight Substance Abuse The Addiction Research Foundation Foundation has launched a new series of brochures brochures for Ontario families aimed at preventing alcohol and drug problems problems before they get started. The series, series, called Take Action, is part of the ARF's contribution to the International International Year of the Family. Take Action consists of 12 brochures brochures to be released monthly throughout 1994. Each brochure in the series will give family members practical suggestions on ways to prevent prevent or deal with substance abuse. As well as giving advice on issues that can arise around alcohol and other other drugs, the brochures are intended to encourage stronger family relationships relationships in general. "We know that strong, supportive families play an important role in helping people avoid problems with alcohol and drugs," says Dr. Peter Loranger, head of health promotion program development at the ARF. "Take Action aims to prevent substance substance abuse by promoting healthy family environments." The Take Action brochures offer Computer Program Designed to Assist Farmers in Ontario Farmers are constantly looking for ways to improve themselves. A computer computer program is now available to help Ontario farmers identify their priorities for new information and skills. After answering a series of questions, farmers can choose to print a report listing their high and low priorities for training.
