Management and hydro hydro officials from every region in Ontario Ontario were present and claimed that Neil Britton had left his mark in every every utility who sought his advice. Lloyd Stephenson gave the history of Newcastle power which Neil's father, Harve Britton, managed for sixty years. Neil learned the business at an early age. Mr. Gerry O'Connor who welcomed Neil 40 years ago and also saw his retirement, was Chair of this wonderful evening of tributes to Neil. Congratulations! Thursday dinner guests of Mrs. Kathleeen Kimball were Hugh and Meda Stapleton. Port Hope, and Lena Graham. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Wood, Orono, Orono, visited on Wednesday night with his mother, Mrs. Gladys Wood. Mrs. Maxine Felgate, Claremont, spent Thursday with her mother and Harold and Shirley Wood, Oshawa, were Saturday visitors. Many volunteers helped to clean up around the village, sponsored by the IGA management - Jean Rickard for the Lioness and her neighbour Patsy Scott, Albert Pearce and Ron Burley for the Seniors, members of the Scouting and Guide movement. Newcastle Seniors On Tuesday, May 10, the Seniors Bowling concluded with their noon luncheon at Port Darlington Marina. On their return to the Lions Den, bowling awards were given out. Winners of their afternoon card games were: 1st Vance Cooper, 2nd Hazel Murphy, 3rd Lil Bolderstone, 4th Vi Hayward who also had the most lone hands, 5th Art Compton. Kay Powell and Jean Holmes had lucky scores, and June Wilson was the most honest player.
