As the main attraction, the Chev Carolina Crusher will oppose oppose the Ford Bigfoot three times on both Saturday and Sunday at the Jamboree. Exciting Mid-Season Action at Mosport We're just past the halfway mark in the season of stock car action at Mosport International Speedway, and what an exiting year it's been. We've had lots of different winners, winners, spectacular starts, spectacular finishes, spins, and all-out war on pavement. Its been exhilarating! The racing on July 23 was no different different as the drivers settled in and did their weekly dance once again. In Thundercar division, there were six different winners in the early evening heats, including Rob Leblanc of Pontypool, Dave Crow- ther of Ajax, Ritchie Manette of Georgetown, Don Andrews of Port Hope, Vic Mannette of Mississauga, and Scott Douglas of Uxbridge. The feature was action-packed as Manette pulled off a double victory on the evening. During the hard- fought race there were lots of nose- to-tail battles among the field of 34 cars that started. Claiming second was Douglas, and in third was Dan Robinson of Scarborough. In Street Stock division, Royce Jones of Fraserville and Glen Pricker Pricker of Pickering were the heat winners winners for the night. In the feature, Jim Rossiter of Bowmanville put on a great show for the fans to see as he battled the field to take home the checkered flag and the win. It was a pretty clean race, other than the usual spins, bumps, and grinds. This race saw lots of passing deep in the field, which made it very exciting to watch. Grabbing second was Flicker, Flicker, and in third was Rick Boucher of Oshawa. In the Late Model Sportsman division, division, Alex Hamilton of Priceville showed everyone just how good a racer he is by being a triple winner during the night. Hamilton was unstoppable unstoppable as he captured both heat races as well as the feature. Taking second was Gary Mead of Orillia, and Ed Beatty of Keswick finished third. In the Mosport Late Model division, division, Joe Goncalves of Concord and Dwight Brown of Willowdale were the. winners of the early evening heats. In the feature, Rino Montona- ri of Stouffville grabbed the win, followed by Pete Shepherd Jr. of Brampton. In third was Rod Sauder of Port Perry. The action continues every Saturday Saturday night.
