December was a busy month starting with a tournament tournament in Ennismore. The boys won two games, one against St. Anne's of Peterborough 4- 2, and the other 3-2 against the home team. Our third match was a tiring one as we lost against the All Saints. This put us in the 'B' Championship round, only to meet the same Saints the next day. This time the team played hard only to come away 3-0 losers. December's record in league play saw a big improvement improvement in team spirit. We posted a 3-2 record before the holiday season. The Peewees beat Port Perry 1-0, 4-3, and Manvers 7- 1. Our losses to Orono 4-1 and 6-3, were close and could have gone either way. Hoping the holiday madness madness was behind us we entered a tournament in Millbrook. The first two games proved us wrong as the players left on the ice were frustrated when the penalty boxes for both teams had more players in it than did the bench. The third and final game saw Newcastle take a fast 5-0 lead in the first only to see it diminish quickly in the second to 5-3. Newcastle hung on to come away with a 6-4 win. In what turned out to be our final game in 1995, Scott Lux- ton and Nick Stacey each scored two, with singles going to Craig McManus and Matt Zawislak. Assists were shared by Nick, Scott, Craig, Matt, Mark Brennan,. Matt. O'Halloran and Adam Tollett. Tyler Knight, Robbie Thompson Thompson and Bobby Phelan rounded out the shorthanded team with Ryan Leddy and Scott Poole guarding between the pipes. Our OMHA team has three league games left before playoffs, but you can be sure that, with holidays and festive celebrations behind .us, we are all looking forward to extended post-season hockey.
