Proud To Be Better - Not Just Different! Paula Catherine Drumm Karen Leigh Tweedle Autofest Returns to Oshawa August 25 The Third Annual AUTOFEST AUTOFEST rolls into Oshawa on Sunday, August 25. In just three years AUTOFEST has become one of the top three automotive automotive events of its kind in Canada. With over 500 vehicles on show in 1994; over 600 in '95 and registrations to date running running one month ahead of last year, the Motor City Car Club (AUTOFEST organizers) arc anticipating over 800 classic beauties on August 25, at the General Motors of Canada Headquarters on Colonel Sam Drive in Oshawa. Perennial favourites '55, '56 and '57 Chevy's will be joined by the late '50's finned monsters monsters from Chrysler, Flat-Head Fords, lead sleds, street rods, customs, antiques, a Parade of Race Cars and just about everything else imaginable. Complementing these beautiful vehicles will be over 40 commercial commercial exhibitors and for the first lime, a large Arts and Craft Show and Sale. AUTOFEST '96 opens to the public at 10:00 a.m. and the event concludes with an awards ceremony and parade of winners from 4:00 to 5:00. Bowmanville Zoo Helping Charity Conte visit the lions, tigers, elephants and more at the Bowmanville Zoo! It will be an exciting way to spend the day with your family and. friends and help a local charily, On Saturday, August 24, 1996 the Bowmanville Zoo will be donating a precentagc of the admissions to the Oshawn/Clarington Association Association for Community Living. OCACL supports over 400 children and adults who have a developmental handicap and who reside in this area. Set in a 42 acre park-like setting, the zoo has hundreds of animals, many of them rare and endangered. After brief introductions, newest member Toby Smits presented the Table Topics session of the evening, Each topic followed the meeting's theme and Toastmaster Toastmaster Denise Marck won the Best Table Topics Award for the evening. Table Topics Evaluation was presented by Francis Theriault, Theriault, a visiting Oshawa Toastmaster, Toastmaster, giving each member valuable and insightful comments. comments.
