Saturday's first game saw the Toros spot the Sudbury Timeberwolves three goals before before charging back with eight unanswered markers winning 8-3. Game MVP went to Ryan McMichael. In the third game the Toros again dominated, Rotary Club Beaten Rotary Club were in tough against Orono #1 in its season opener. After valiantly . stopping shot after shot from Orono's skilled snipers, Rotary's ace netminder Scot Junkini got beat on a two on none for the games opener. Late in the first behind 3-0, Mike Bemey scored. Orono went back on the offensive and scored three unanswered goals. Rotary fought back when Mike Ber- ney smashed the inside of the cross bar with a bullet. Orono extinguished the comeback with two more for a 8-2 final. beating a squad from North Bay 7-3. Again sniper Ryan McMichael walked off with the game MVP, with an honourable honourable mention to Erik Smale, always flawless in the Toro net. Having won all three games, the Toros advanced to the semi-finals against a tough Copper Cliff team. Although the Toros played an exceptional exceptional game, the Copper Cliff Red- men eventually prevailed, in an end to end game, 4-2. Overall, the Harrison Fuels Peewees played the kind of gutsy hockey reminiscent of playoff hockey. As coach Brown noted, "The players showed great determination from game one. They had that never-say-die attitude throughout throughout and a few key players took their game to the next level."
