Despite playing their best hockey of the season, the Toros lost a heart breaker 2-1. The Novice Toros came out looking to avenge an earlier season loss to Richmond Hill and gave the visitors all they could handle in the opening minutes. And even though Richmond Hill scored first, the Toros answered back quickly on a goal by Michael Munce, with an assist to Jordan Beau- drie, to tie the score at 1-1. The game stayed close for the balance of the game with Brian Sellars and Robbie Goddard Goddard providing solid goaltending goaltending to keep the Toros close and allow the offense to break open. The forward line of Kurils Kurils Salway, Eric Kemp and Tyler Tyler Beers created plenty of scoring scoring chances, but failed to find the back of the net. In the meantime, the defensive unit of Derek McCron, Nathan Murray, Robbie Campbell, Alex Ley, Geoff Powell and Bobby Sanders played outstanding, outstanding, keeping the Richmond Richmond Hill forwards at bay. With less than 1:30 remaining remaining in the game, Richmond Hill capitalized on a goalmouth scramble to steal the victory from the young Toros. lar season. Mark Reid was able to make his mark, when he flew down the ice and unloaded unloaded a perfect shot. Baltimore certainly tried to change the 2- 0 score but were unable to penetrate penetrate the outstanding defence provided by Matthew Wong- Fung, Andrew Vyfschaft, Ryan Brunt and Whitney Foskett. In the second Daniel Wong-Fung assisted by Steve Yule and Matt Brash, was right there to accept the pass from his far side and smash it into the Baltimore Baltimore net. Derrick Wood and Chris Crichton covered the opposition opposition allowing Jamie Kona- rowski, assisted by Mark Reid and Whitney Foskett, to move in for the fourth and final goal of the night. By being in top form for the night, Jonathan Skan walked away with what will surely be his first of many shutouts. With a one day rest, the Crow's Sports team travelled to Bewdley. Bewdley landed on the scoreboard first with two goals in the second period. Jonathan Skan was very busy between the pipes making some outstanding saves. Things were looking pretty bleak for Newcastle until Daniel Daniel Wong-Fung and Ryan Brunt assisted by Steve Yule. With Newcastle down by a goal going into the third peri od, Daniel Wong-Fung, assisted assisted by Steve Yule and Matt Brash, sent a blinding shot past the Bewdley team to even the score. Bewdley was successful in getting one more goal, but Daniel Wong-Fung, assisted by Whitney Foskett and Matt Brash, was not going to allow Bewdley to keep the lead. The rest of the game belonged to Newcastle. Steve Yule found his mark with 1:10 remaining to take, the lead 4-3. Just when we thought the scoring was over, Daniel Wong-Fung captured captured his third goal of the night. The end of a very busy week found Crow's Sports making an afternoon trip east to Baltimore Baltimore on Saturday. A great team effort and unbelievable passing by all secured a perfect winning week for Newcastle. Daniel Wong-Fung, assisted by Ryan Brunt and Steve Yule, opened the scoring by slipping one past the Baltimore goalie. Jonathan Skan fought off the Baltimore snippers by making saves that even the pros would be proud of. Baltimore was able to score only two goals for the entire game.
