However the Hornets came out on the short end losing 5-3. Scoring for the Hornets were Derrick Crossey, Brock Deighten and Stephen Mills. Assists went to Deighten, Crossey and Mike Daly. Once again Brandon Spencer was exceptional exceptional in goal. Statesman Reaches 'A' Finals Statesman opened with a strong effort in a see-saw battle that ended in a 5-3 decision over St. Paul's. Later in the afternoon they completely dominated St. Anne's in a 12-1 rout to advance advance to the 'A' Championship against Crow's Sports, also from Bowmanville. Crow's led 2-1 until the middle middle of the third period when they pulled away with three unanswered goals in a 5-1 win over the Statesman.
