Bowmanville 623-2826 The facility is a 21 bed shelter for homeless teens aged sixteen to twenty On Wednesday, November 20, 1996, a group of seven grade ten and eleven French Immersion students: Michelle De Souza, Ron Robichaud, Wendy Lalonde, Kelly Murray, Murray, Sean Kent, Jim Conboy, and Michelle Doucett, set out on the most unforgettable class trips they will ever have. The students visited the ARK, which is a twenty-one bed shelter for homeless teens aged sixteen to twenty. The students had the pleasure of meeting one on one with a particular particular teen, who has lived a life of ...abuse. Though there were many tears shed, everyone everyone walked away with smiles on their faces. In the afternoon the students were put to work, doing odds and ends around the house. There was a lot of work that was done, but not one of the students complained about the work. They were just happy to help out their community. The day was filled with many lessons that were learned, beginning beginning with a reality check, showing the students just how lucky they were to never have to wonder about where they were going to sleep that night, or any other night for that matter. matter. They learned that a journey of a million miles begins with a single step. The students are now asking for the help of our community, they are asking for donations of any type, to help out their friends at the ARK. By: Michelle Doucett and Michelle De Souza.
