20 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, Monday, December 23, 1996 Section Two Christmas Letter Here it is Christmas once again. The children are waiting with excitement to see what Santa will bring them. They always always ask where you are and if you're coming to spend Christmas Christmas with us again. I explained the situation to them. They somewhat understand, although although they are very sad. I wish I could see you both again, even if it's just to say I love you. But we know that's just not possible. I remember back when I came out of my bedroom and Mom, you and Dad, were having having coffee by the table. My brother was still sleeping and my sister and her husband not yet there. The presents were mounted high to the ceiling. The smell of fresh pine was in the air. The love I saw in your eyes was never to be forgotten. I remember going to bed at the end of the day with a full tummy tummy and so happy that Santa remembered remembered me. Now with my own children they have all that but they miss one important thing - their grandparents! Well, this year on Christmas Day, please look down from heaven as we celebrate the holidays holidays with our children. And remember this: I will always miss you and I will always love you both, Mom and Dad. Merry Christmas from your loving daughter Name Witheld CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON PUBLIC NOTICE TO ITS CITIZENS AMENDMENTS TO THE FORMER TOWN OF NEWCASTLE BY-LAW 86-112 being a By-law to establish a street name map and a street name inventory for roads in the former Town of Newcastle, now the Municipality of Clarington. Holiday Spirit Never Changes I remember the Christmas holidays at home with our family, family, just talking, laughing and listening to carols and plays on our old radio. Times were hard in the 30's and 40's, and on Christmas Eve we went to church to thank God for our blessings and the good things in our lives. When I look back on those years, we had very little little to thank anyone for. On Christmas Day there was a big goose with all the trimmings, trimmings, and a tree that was covered covered with tissue paper and glue. Not much was found under under our tree except things we made for each other. Our par ents didn't seem to mind, they were a simple people who saw joy in everything they had and in everything we did. Many years have passed and so have many Christmases. Now, I have a family of my own which I treasure, and I also treasure the little gifts I received received from God along the way, "my grandchildren". Looking back, I realize that Christmas was about family and love and the same feelings I felt then remain with me year after year.
