Everyone is busy with interesting interesting and fun projects to try and beat the mid-winter blues. 100 Day Celebration On Monday, February 10, our school celebrated "100 Day", which officially marks the halfway point of our school year. Each classroom classroom in the primary grades had special activities revolving revolving around the magic number. number. Even Mrs. Farmer and Mrs. Trbovitch were seen sporting 100 Day Necklaces, which the students students made from yam and 100 fruit loops! There was an amazing array of objects brought to school, all in groups of 100, and the buses were very colourful on the way home, as the students all brought home a balloon to remember this special day. Summer somehow seemed a little closer by the end of the day! Remembrance Day Contest Results This past November, the students of Hampton participated participated in the Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day Contest. There were three categories in which to make an entry: Poetry, Prose and Posters. Each'entry is to portray the meaning of Remembrance Day as interpreted by the students. Our six school winners were as follows: Poetry: Ashley Schofield, Sarah Slyfield; Black and White Posters: John Payne, Laurie Skirrow; Color Posters: Kelly Wallraff, Missy Lloyd. Our congratulations to our winners! Their entries were then sent on to the Bowmanville Legion Branch 178 regional contest. Sarah Slyfield received Honourable Mention and Ashley Schofield placed second in the Poetry division. division.
