In the first game, Barrie was the opponent. Ashley Getz kept the team in the game with numerous quality saves through the first. Barrie struck twice early in the second second to take a 2-0 lead. Lange's responded at 3:50 of the second when Steve Reed broke in between Barrie's twin tower defencemen and placed the puck in the top corner, assisted by Chris Welsh. Twenty-three seconds later, it was Chris Hollis who evened the score by driving to the net and putting the puck along the ice past the keeper. Assists by Jessie Halic and Chad Jozvoski. A scoreless third meant overtime overtime for the two determined teams. With 2:23 left in overtime overtime Barrie scored to win. Penetang fought back in the second to tie the game at 2-2. With time running down in the third, overtime looked inevitable. However, on a power play, DeGraaf carried the puck down the right wing, and swiftly passed the puck across the ice to Cowan who one-timed a shot past the helpless goalie. Lange's were the "B" champs. Although not on the score- board, on this day, special mention should go to John Reynard who must have knocked down just about every opposing player.
