Holds Annual Meeting On April 3, ladies of the Bowmanville W.l. gathered at Trinity United Church for their Annual Meeting. President Vera Downey welcomed all the members and opened the meeting with O Canada, followed by the Institute Ode in Unison. Roll Call was well answered with , "What do you do to keep healthy?" A short business meeting followed, during which reading of the Correspondence revealed that the theme of the W.l. exhibit at the Orono Fair will be "From Farm to Table". We were reminded of a W.l. Rally and display at the Bowmanville Museum on June 1st. Brenda Metcalfe, District President called for Nominations. Report by Betty Morrison. This event takes place in the centre of the historic downtown, on Temperance Street North and South. Admission is free. This great family event, which is held annually each spring, includes the opportunity opportunity to enjoy such unique Canadian fare as freshly made flap-jacks served with REAL maple syrup and coffee coffee in a "lumber jack" kitchen (tent), with live entertainment, entertainment, . including Dixieland music played by the "Eksentrik Dixieland" band. Enjoy a funnel cake dusted with powdered sugar or local maple syrup. Canadian Artist Unveils Work at McLaughlin Gallery On Thurs., May 15 Opening at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, Thursday, 15 May, an exhibition exhibition of work by Canadian artist Tim Jocelyn presents the range of his artistic output: output: screens, banners, clothing, clothing, and furniture, along with some of the papercuts he produced produced for the Astrolabe at Expo '86. Tim Jocelyn was an associate associate member of ChromaZone, the Toronto artist collective formed in 1981. Curator Sybil Goldstein says: "When Tim Jocelyn died in 1986 he left behind a legacy of love and talent unequalled in the Toronto art scene." The exhibition continues until 31 August.
