It was the Men's Club's way of thanking the church women for the work they do in the many church organizations. About 70 ladies were present for the meal which was held in the church basement and included a tasty assortment of food, including a pot of chilli donated by Wendy's. On Tuesday, April 22, the first meeting of the Durham East Field Crops Club was held. Joined by 28 members, Eric Bowman and Dave Tamblyn introduced the Field Crops Club this year. We talked about what is going to be done during this year's club and how it is different from last year. This year instead of just growing crops such as corn, wheat, beans etc., you have a chance to grow fruits and vegetables in your own back yard. We also talked about how to care for your produce and what pesticides to use on different produce.
