The device is just one of many pieces of equipment being installed in the plant this summer as part of a $1.8 million upgrade which will put the business at the leading edge of automated manufacturing technology. The work will be finished in early September. "You're going to lose the connection with the people you're representing," he predicted. The chairman says it will be up to the new board to decide questions such as where board meetings will be held and whether both the board offices in Cobourg and Peterborough will remain in operation. But that's not the only challenge ahead. The board will also deal with matters such as merging the employee employee groups within the two school systems and developing developing policies which will serve both former boards. "It just boggles the mind to think what the new board is facing," said Willsher. He added that, like many trustees on the school boards which will no longer exist next year, he hasn't decided if he will seek re-election. "My heart says yes, because I know the challenges challenges the new board is facing," facing," he added. However, he says the drawback to serving on the amalgamated board is the lack of contact with the community and the students.
