The Bowntanvillc resident was summoned down to the field from his seat in the stands at the end of the game played last Friday and presented presented with one of the shoes Clemons wore in his final game as a player before before becoming a full-time coach with the team. "He told me to take this shoe and treat it with respect," says the nine- year-old of the brief exchange following following the game at SkyDomc. "I thanked him very much," says Bobby of his response. The Bicklc family met Clemons when the Argonauts would practice at Civic Fields in Oshawa every year prior to the start of the season. Along the way, Bobby became a big fan of Clemons because "lie had something- special," says the Dr. Ross Tilley student. student. "(Clemons) is really nice to people people that he hasn't seen before or even knows." An overzealous security guard almost almost prevented the exchange from taking place, says Bobby's mom, Cindy. As the two were making their way from their scats to the field level, a security guard stopped them and told them they couldn't go any farther. "But Pinball is calling us," Cindy told the security guard, who eventually eventually stepped aside. Bobby, who plays tyke football with the Clarington Tigcrcats, says the shoe is wrapped up and will be put in a glass container to be displayed displayed with some other memorabilia he has collected. Plan under way to control deer population The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is providing additional hunting opportunities to help control the population population of deer. This opportunity applies to parts of Durham Region, as well as Hallon, Peel, and York. To participate, hunters will have to purchase a second game seal for $31, the same price as a resident deer license, license, Seals can be purchased at MNR's Aurora District office and at the Natural Resource Information Center, Macdonald Block, 900 Bay St. Toronto. Hunters must have applied for either a controlled tag or an ant lei less deer tag in 2000 for the wildlife management unit in which they wish to hunt to he eligible. Game seals are eligible for archery hunting only. For more information call John Almond, Almond, senior fish and wildlife technician, technician, Aurora at (90.5) 713-7707.
