Sports Hall by fall? CLARINGTON - A hall of fame honouring local athletes athletes is expected to hold its inaugural event this fall. The Clarington Sports Hall of Fame committee is committed to a "fairly aggressive aggressive timeline to try to get this in place by fall," says community services chairman chairman Jane Rowe. The hall, which will honour honour the local sporting community community in the athlete, team and builder categories, is to be located in the south corridor corridor of the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bow- manville, says Clarington Recreation Co-ordinator Skip Crosby. "There certainly certainly is a good location there to start off with anyway," he notes. The committee, which is made up of five prominent members of Clarington's sporting community along with Mr. Crosby, is currently hard at work, setting criteria and putting in place a nomination nomination process, says Mr. Crosby. It's about time to get a hall in place, says Mayor John Mutton. "We've been talking about it for a while," he says.
