True, it appears under a new caption and under a new management but it emulates front the same office and its purpose and desire shall he to chronicle whatever is of interest to the social and business relations of the people of this community. We are sure that the Orono News, under Mr. Sam Cut- tell, served this community during the past fifty years faithfully faithfully and well. To many it Chronicled their entrance into this life ; set in glowing terms the culmination of love's romance; yes, and worded the last tribute of respect to many who have passed on. It has assisted in furthering your 1 business interests interests and in rendering mlutual help and neighbourly friendship among the people of this village and those who are accustomed to make Orono their centre of community interests. But the old order changeth giving place to new. We shall try to serve you as well as we know how. Your interests shall be our interests. Your success shall be our success. We shall sedulously shun anything of a social or political nature :hat might have a tendency to injure or hurt any individual or to set at variance neighbours. Agricultural Society Hold Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the Durham Durham Central Agricultural Society was held in the Orange Hall on Wednesday, Wednesday, January 20th. The members members of the Society assembled and the meeting was opened by an address address from; the President, Mr. Russell Osborne. The minutes of the previous annual annual meeting were read by the Secretary, Secretary, Mr. J, 0. Gainey and adopted. Tho Treasuror'-s report was presented presented by the Treasurer, Mr. W. II. Staples, showing a balance of $172;- 50, which was favorably commented commented upon. Moved by Mr, W. 11. Staples, seconded seconded by Mr. H. J. Souch, that the Treasurer's Report be adopted.
