On Tuesday night, January 18th, a number of people of Leska-rd com- munity gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Gay and gave Elya Gay a miscellaneous shower. A good1 number was. present, many useful gifts were received. The evening was spent in games and music. Lunch was served to the gathering. PR13SENTATIOX The presentation and1 dance held in the Club Room on Friday evening in honour of 'Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Gay was- a huge -success. The first part of the evening was spent in dan- cing to the fine -music furnished by -Charlie Taylor and Charlie Harris with "Mrs. Hartwell Lowery at the piano. At ten o’clock Mr. Arthur Robbins was called on to act as chair- man for the following programme: A trio by Miss Helen and Dorothy and Mr. Roy Scott; recitation by Robert dialers giving some advice on matrimony : Mr. Arthur Bell then favoured with -a. solo; Mrs. X. iSkeld- ing gave a real live number on the month organ; music by the orchestra, consisting of Glia rile Gay, guitar, Stanley Ball and George Pollard, mouth organs, with Miss,,Elya Gay at the piano. The chairman then called on Charlie -and Hazel to come forward and take two chairs which were placed for them. He then call- ed cm Miss Edna Billings to read the following address : Deal' Hazel and Charlie : We. a few of your friends have gathered here -this evening to bid you bon voyage on the sea, of matrimony on which you have recently embarked !T't -is with a great den-1 of pride that we call you our friends, J o you Charlie, who has spent your life till now in our midst we can do no more than say it has been inspiring know "mg you, with your pleasant and sc!f -sacrificing spirit, ready a t all times to give untiringly of .vour musical talents for the enjoyment of " others.
