OKONO WEEKLY TIMES SONS OF ENGLAND ENTERTAIN The Sons of England) held another card party on Monday evening of this week among the members and their friends, this being the last party for the season. The committee wish to thank the members and all fholse who in some way helped to make these parties such a splendid success. The winner for the ladies" first prize was won by Mrs. John Morris, and the consolation was won by Mrs. F. Hall. The gent’s first prize was won by Mr. John Morris and the eon. solation by Mr. Clarence Allin. The lucky chair number was won by Miss Cornish, after which a splendid lunch was served by the ladies. Copping hauled his logs into the Orono saw- mill on Monday. There arc quite a number of ten- ders in for the-position of caretaker for Orono School. Mr, and Mrs. William D. Fowler, of Peterhoro, visited their aunt, Mrs.. J. Eagleson. recently. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lyeett and baby spent Sunday with the Tatter’s mother, Mrs. Winter. Mrs. R. C. Ellis, of South Poreu pine, paid a surprise week-end visit to her father, Mr. J. T. Lofriman and: brother. •Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Galbraith, of -Blackstock, were recent visitors with Mrs. Thomas Patterson and other re- latives in town. Mr. James Stark wais uptown on /Saturday, the first time since Jan- uary 1st. We are glad to report he is looking much improved. .On Friday afternoon last the -ladies of Park St. W. A. Relief Committee were very active piecing quilt tops for the bale and enjoyed a very dainty supper. We are pleased to see Mr, O. W. Scott out again. He say-s that three weeks is the longest he has ever been confined to bis home in all1 his 85 years. Mr. Scott fell on the ice about a month ago injuring his1 hi,p. About forty from here attended the Guelph -/Oshawa hockey game played in the Oshawa arena, on Mon- day .evening last when Oshawa de- feated Guelph by the score of 5 to 1 in the first game of the Junior play- offs. Work is now under way in rede-' corihtinig the dry goods department of Mrs, 0. G. Armstrong’s' store.
