The annual pancake breakfast sponsored by the Orono Fire Fighters was held on Saturday with proceeds from the breakfast going towards Muscular Dys- tophy which the local firemen support on an annual basis. As a result of these collisions five persons have been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and one person has been charged under the Criminal Code. The Newcastle Officers also investigated ninety-six occurrences occurrences of a general nature. Some of these occurrences were as follows: There were seven investigations into "theft" offences, three investigations investigations into "BREAK AND ENTER" offences and three investigations into "WILFUL DAMAGE" offences. The following are brief reports concerning two fatal motor vehicle accidents which occurred during the past week. On Thursday, July 19th, 1975at 1:20 a.m. a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred on Highway 35, approximately one-half mile south of the 3rd line of Clarke Township. The accident occurred when a northbound vehicle was in collision with a southbound vehicle in the southbound lane. A fatal motor vehicle accident accident occurred on Saturday, June 21st, 1975 at 7:40 p.m. in the Village of Hampton. Tanya MCPHEE, 2 years of Hampton was killed when she was struck by a car on the Old Scugog Road approximately one tenth of mile north of Taunton Road. The driver of the vehicle was Clarke G. At this barbecue they received their bars and awards. The Home and School put on the barbeque, it was an exciting afternoon playing games and things. PAISLEY STUTT SANDRA SIMMONS ANDREA WILLIAMS WITH THE HELP OF MR. ZANDER! Mr. Dik Zander, a local Canadian Artist has been coming to Orono Public School since April 23rd and has been introducing to the classes the true story' behind the Pyramid. Mr. Zander is an employee of the Arts Council in Toronto. The arts council sends artists like Dik Zander to different schools to teach what they want to teach, as long as it has something to do with art. This is Mr. Zander's first time working with children in such a project. The Great Pyramid Caper was a great success. Most people thought it would be a plane look-around but they had drums, a piano, films shining on the Pyramid, he Grade 6's have been half in charge of a company. The company is called Pyramo. There are 8 students on the board of directors : President President + Duane Major, Vice President - Paisley Stutt; Secretary - Annette Hancock, Manufacturer - Karen Quan- trill ; Research and Developments Developments - Paul Reed; Historical - Laurie Benedict; Marketing and Sales - Donna Haskell and Offier and Management - Donny Armstrong. The grade 5's made 3 dimentional boxes. The grade 4's made posters for the Great Pyramid Caper. Through the summer, some of the grade 6's are going to finish kits which are going to be sold. The people in pod B made designs out of sheets of paper. They took a sheet of paper, cut out a design and then pasted the design on another piece of paper. Mr. Dik Zander has done alot for ORONO WEEKLY TIMES, JUNE 25th, 1975 -5 The ages of each student is recorded and their score tries to reach the score of those set by the: Canadian government. There are three different levels in this,award system, 1, 2, and 3. When the exercises are completed the scores are also recorded. The record pages we can see what award they receive. If you have scored 4 level 1 you earn a brongze, 4 level 2 you earn a silver and if you get 4 level 3 you earn a gold. If 5 level 3 have been achieved, you earn an award of excellence.
