Their donation donation enabled us to buy a tent to be used in our summer camping program. Although a dining tent was desired, a suitable one could not be found and so we^purchase a second sleeping tent. This tent was used by the girls trying their Camp Leader's Badge this past weekend. Last year when our girls tried this badge, we found it necessary to repair some of our borrowed tents before the could be put up. It is indeed a great help for a Guide to be able to put up a tent she is familiar with and which is knowh to be in good repair. Many thanks to our Mother's Committee without whose help this purchase would not have been possible. On the weekend of June 20, 21 and 22, Kerry Grandy and Karen Atkins held their Camp Leader's Badge on the camp site of Mr. and Mrs. Elu. Heard, Orono. The amount the gallery has received received from Canada Council has increased each year since Joan Murray was appointed Director. In her first year at the gallery, Canada Council gave the gallery $10,000 which has increased by $7,000 each year. Ms. Murray was ecstatic about the amount received. It will help considerably in the gallery's work and it also indicates the importance the federal government places on our gallery, she said.
