Coun. Potticary asked that the commission of social services and the social services services committee appeal to the government of Ontario to amend the act which allows the higher income families to be subsidized. In order that you don't miss out on some you may have been waiting all year to catch, here's list for 1975. The family would also have to have two children under 9 years, and two children between between 10 and 15 years to qualify for the $4.19 subsidy. The total day care cost in a regional centre is now $5 per child. The actual cost to the region is $7.97 per child. The region had been subsidizing all children, whether on subsidy or not by $2.97, the amount over the $5 daily cost per child. Coun. Potticary said, "People "People making a lot of money and still getting subsidized day care are well able to afford to pay more towards having their children looked after. The money is probably going on color television and motor boats, eating up the taxpayer's taxpayer's dollar, instead of going towards day care." SUMMER'S HERE.
