At the sale more than 100 guppies were sold. The guppies were sold at $.05 each or 6 for $.25. In all about $4.95 was made. , Mr. J. R. Simser, the principal, is planning to have another sale as soon as he has enough fish." By Annette Stephenson SKATING CARNIVAL At Orono Skating Arena on April 3rd and 4th there will be a skating carnival. The admission admission for adults will be $1.00, children under 12, $.50. The *tirqe will be 8:00 for Saturday and 2, p.m. for Sunday. Juniors Intermediates and Seniors will be skating. Everyone Everyone is welcome to attend. By Krista Brady t THE FUN FAIR The 1976 Fun Fair will be held in Orono Public School on April 22, from 4:30 to 6:30 .p.m. The events will be the Dart Game, Popcorn Sale, Fish Pond, Ball Toss, Fish and Plant Sale, White Elephant, Elephant, Bingo, Weight Guess, Penny Sale, Lookie Sale, What's It, Raffle, and Hockey Target Shoot. Hot dogs and pop will also be sold. Proceeds will go towards playground equipment for Orono Public School. By Krista Brady TEACHER'S VACATION Mr. J. R. Simser principal of Orono Public School went to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. He said hé went for "golf, swimming and sleep- ' ing", Mr. Laing who ' teaches grade 4 and 5 for his holiday went to Las Vegas. He said "he enjoyed getting a suntan beside the pool, driving in the desert and going to the shows". Mr. and Mrs. Yeo had Mrs. Yeo's mother, sister and 2 nephews from Trail, British Columbia who came to Orono to visit them. Mr. Crawford who teaches grade 5 and 6 went to Watertown which is in the United States. Mrs. Staples the Kindergarten Kindergarten teacher went to Aspen Colorado to ski. Mrs. Allen the grade l teacher went to Nassau in the Bahamas. Mrs. Deremo who teches grades 3. and 4 went to Ottawa. Mrs. Bunting teaches grade 3 and she went to Kingston. Mrs. Cowan teaches grades 1 and 2 also went to Ottawa. Mr. Smith the teacher of grade 2 went to Watertown then to Kitchener. Mr. and Mrs. Lunn who teaches grade 5 went to, Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Carolina. Mrs. Clark, secretary for the school went to New Orleans. By Heather Watson SCORING CHAMPS On March 30, 1976 Sherry Nancekievill was awarded a plague for House League floor hockey. On this plague it says, "House. League Floor Hock,ey scoring champ Sher- •' ryn 1975 - 76. ' Sherry scored 10 goals apd three assists. The grand total was 13 points. William Van Seggelen was the 'Scoring champ of the boys. William ' scored 19 goals and 7 assists. His grand total was 26 points. These two champs should be congratulated for their great effort. They left on Friday, March 19 and returned on Saturday, March 29. While in Rome the students toured the Forum, ' and the Colliseum, the Sistine Chapel and the Circulas Maximus. They also saw the city of Pompei. They Stayed, at the Hotel Venezia in Rome for 4 days' and then they w'ent by bus to Sorrepto. While in Sorrento, they took a boat trip to Capri. They stayed in Sorrento for 3 days ( in. the Plaza Hotel. They went back to Rome ■ where they flew to Shannon in ' Ireland where they stayed for half an hour." Then they flew to Toronto .and reached homç by 10:00 Saturday night. Mrs. S. JameS and Miss D. Eves who are teachers at 'Clarke as well as Mr. James •chaperoned the group'.
