Chatterton Electrical Contracting Phone 983-5546 or 983-5940 Orono, Ontario The PUC will use its computer facilities to figure out individual billings. A complete list of customer charges will be returned to the region, which will issue the actual bills. According to commission sécretary-treasurer D.J. Ashworth, Ashworth, the PUC will receive five cents per bill from the region for its services. Calculated for Durham's 46,000 water customers, who are billed quarterly, this will add about $9,200 to the PUC coffer. ■ ANNUALLY Mr. Ashworth explained meter readings will be done annually. So for nine months of the year, residents will receive an estimated bill. The final bill for the year, based on the true reading, will take into account the difference between how much water the region estimates a customer will use and the amount he actually has used. According to Mr. Ashworth, the billing agreement benefits both the region 'and the PUC, as the former took control of Durham water rates in January, January, 1974, while the latter retains the equipment and experitse to do the job. Dewar said the review would make members of his committee "about as* popular as skunks . . . but I think it should work because none of us has any particular axe to grind." Coun. Don Lovelock said "They'll be calling us the 'McCarthy Committee". . However, Coun. Lovelock (Whitby) agreed that the committee was faced with two alternatives in conducting conducting the review.
