As soon as a student sells 4 subscriptions, he or she received a beer mug with Clarke's school crest on it. 1 The top sales person by Monday, April 12 was Grace Vanniejenhuis and she sold 12 subscriptions. She invited 10 people who have at least some one subscription to a submarine submarine lunch, which is being paid for by the student athletic association. A digital clock radio or a 5 band portable radio is to be won by the top sales person of the whole campaign. by Jo-Anne Danilko THE PINES SENIOR PUBLIC SCHOOL Kim Richards, with a speech about man's age old fear and persecution of the timber wolf, was the grand winner in the public speaking • finals held at The Pines Senior Public School on Thursday, April 8th. In second second Place was Marie Carr, with an imaginative speech on visitors from outer space, 1 Third place winner was Pamela Frank, speaking on the subject of pet rocks. Carol Selby, Aridrea Williams and Kendra Kemp. In his remarks at the conclusion oi the competitions, competitions, vice-principal, Mr. S. Green, commended all speakers speakers on the quality of their speeches and on their poise and delivery and reminded the audience of parents and other pupils that all of the speakers addressing them that evening were winners, since they had been selected as semi-finalists from a large field of speakers. The evening included some fine musical solos from Cor- innne Turansky, Karen Quan- ■ trill and Mark Konzelman on piano. Also performing were Kevin Lowery on saxaphone, accompanied by Mrs. Lowery on piano and Miss Finnemore with three trumpet solos, accompanied by Mrs. Marie Pedwell. Ushers for the evening were Sherry Smirle, Paisley Stutt and Brett Crosbie. from the Schools OPEN HOUSE AT CLARKE HIGH SCHOOL , An hour long gymnastic display was held before a packed gymnasium of parents, parents, students and teachers on April 7, 1976 in Clarke High School. The gymnastic program program was part of Clarke's annual open house.. Twenty students participated in the •'.mnahtics performance. ,.i icse students were .John Cornish, Japet Lovekin, Mike Maitland, Nancy Dykeman, Julie Payne, Graydon Moqre, Shirely Allin, Steven Allin, Cavin Allin, Dave Rowley, , Linda Rainey, Jenny Dyke- man, Lori Clark, Ken Coat- ham, Doug Wilson, John Lempen, Lana Lucyk, Teresa Ciesielski, Pat Barnes and Brigitte Lacourciere. Dance routines, floor routines, vaulting vaulting and the unever^bars were among the skills exhibited. 4 Pottery, leatherwork, quilting quilting and a yearbook display were set up tin various rooms for parents to see.
