The Parkwood Promenade is an evening of music, dancing and dining held in the gardens'of the estate of the late Col. and Mrs. R. S. McLaughlin. "I have every confidence that this year the tickets will sell very fast," said Martha- Anne Rankine, director of Parkwood. Special guest of Parkwood at the promenade will be Pauline McGibbon, Lieutenant-Governor Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario. Mrs. Gibbon is the first woman in Canada to be named a Lieutenant-Governor. Lieutenant-Governor. She is a director of the DuMaurier Council for , the Performing Arts and has long been active in the arts and social service activities. ' The formal evening will include a buffet supper, «bar privileges and entertainment in various areas of the gardens. •The only problem that arose last year has been solved for this yfear's promenade, Mrs. Rankine said. "We had only one buffet last year," she said, "this year we; will have three or four so there should be no long lineups'". As well as more buffets there will bé ni ore entertainment at the promenade this year. Entertainment includes the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra, the Oshawa Choral Society, Society, the Band of the Ontario Regiment, the General Motors Motors Choir and the concordia Pops Orchestra.
