O.P.P. News During the past week the Ontario Provincial Police at Newcastle investigated 10 motor vehicle accidents and attended 83 general occurrences. occurrences. As a result of the motor vehicle accident; investiga- - four persons have been ged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act and two persons have been charged charged with driving offences under the Criminal Code. There were three investigations investigations into offences of 'Wilful Damage', five investigations into offences of 'Theft' and one investigation into an armed 'Robbery'. Four persons have been charged with offences under the Liquor Licence Act, four persons have been charged with Impaired Driving and two persons have been charged charged with offences under the Criminal Code. ARMED ROBBERS On May 7th, 1976 at 2:15 a.m., William MaePHERSON of R. R. 6, Bowmanville, Ontario, the night 'attendant at Kirk's Spur Station on Highway No. 2 at the east Oshawa Townline Road, was robbed of the night's receipts by a lone female armed with a .270 calibre rifle. This woman was arrested a short while later by Durham Region Police Officers. All the money and the rifle were, recovered. Devra Elizabeth Dobbs, 20 Darlington Blvd., Oshawa, age 24 years, has been charged with armed robbery. The above occurrence was investigated by Prov. Const. J. A.
