The 2nd performance begins at 7:00 and ends at 9:00, All students from Orono Public School will be participating. participating. Primary choir will be singing songs having to do with the Summer Olympics. The music resource teacher Mr. D. Dewell will be helping out. Primary grades will be doing a selection of songs with students representing different different countries. H. Laing and J. Deremo's grade 4 - 5 will be doing a dramatization of two songs. R. Crawfdrds grades 5 and 6 will be doing comedy songs. grades 1 - 2 are going to sing Animal Crackers, Robin in the Rain and Good Ship , Lollipop. Mrs. Lunn and Mrs, Deremo's Deremo's grades 4 and 5 will be . singing Paloma Blanca, People People and Eres Tu - Tuck the Wind. Grades 2 - 3 sing Johnny Takes a Walk and Square Dance. Mr. G. Yeo's six's are singing Marzie Doats, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen and the Last Farewell. Grade 3 will sing Sing When the Spirit Says Sing, He's got The Whole World in His Hands and Rythmn Band. The last performance will be made by the Junior Choir singing Run and Catch the Wind, Thoroughly Modern Millep, When You Wish Upon a Star, The Entertainer, My Canada. We all hope this will turn out like it did at rehearsal. People without tickets will watch the performance on close circuit T.V. A VIST TO THE ORONO WEEKLY TIMES On May 13, 5 girls from Orono Public School visited the Orono Weekly Times newspaper' office, Sharon gether as wèll as,, the devlop- ing of pictures. The printing press was at work when we arrived. Copies of work forms were printed. We met Mr. Forrester, part owner of the newspaper while we were there. Mr. Forrester is nice and we would like to thank him for his co-operation. co-operation. T-SHIRTS 150 T-Shirts were sold at Orono Public School by Mr. Yeo. The company is called Mr. T.-Shirt and is in St. Catharines. They are guaranteed guaranteed not to shrink or fade. Each shirt costs 3 dollars, 5.50 for 2 shirts, and 8 dollars for 3 shirts. A white Orono Public School School Crest was place on the left hand corner of each shirt. They will be delivered in 2 weeks. The small profit will be used for recreational activities. TABLOID DAY On June 10th Tabloid Day will be held at Kendal Public School. The grade 4,5 and 6 students take a lunch and stay for the day. Some of the events are The Ball Throw, Soccer Kick - Distance, accuracy, Flexed Arm Hang, Sit-ups, Running Long Jump, Standing Long Jump, High Jump and Push ps. There are going to be races, shotput, ball throw, standing long jump,, running long jump, skip and jump and high jump. For the students in grades 4, 5 and 6 at Orono Public School, tryouts will be held here. Students from these grades will be picked to do the events with other schools. These are Kirby, Newcastle, Newtonville, Lockart, Kendal. Kendal. Students will bring their, lunch and stay for the day. Clarke High School by Jo-Anne Danilko QUEBEC TRIP 23 students went to Quebec on Thursday 13th for four days. They left at 8:00 a.m. and returned Sunday night. They went to Montreal by bus and stayed at the Laurentian Hotel until Friday, On Friday they went to Quebec City and stayed until Sunday. The trip cost each student $78.00 which included the price of the bus trip and their hotel rooms. They had to supply their own meals. Mr. A1 Witherspoon, principal principal of Clarke High School and his wife accompanied the students bn this trip. GREASER DAY Clarke's annual Greaser Day was held on Friday, May 14. The students imitated young people who went to school in the 1950's. Girls wore longer dresses, put their hair in ponytails and wore '.'| bobby socks while the ; boys greased back their hair and ' wore leather jackets and straight jeans. A greaser dance featuring music from the 50's, 60's and seventies was held on Friday night. Admission price was one dollar.
