Orono took an early lead with a goal by Eric Burton in the first half. Zion came right back to ties the sdore. Then late in the second period Roger French came on to score the winner. The game on Saturday night at Courtice ended in a 1 -1 tie. At half-time Orono was down by a goal but early in thl second half Harry de Jonge broke through to tie the score. Next game is this Wednesday night with Orono hosting Tyrone. Game time 7:30. PILES UP TWO WIN ON SATURDAY AT THE KAWARTHA Gerald Robinson from Orono took two wins at the Kawartha on Saturday night. In the third race Robinson drove' Carman Chuck to the win. In the final race of the meet Robinson driving Rob Ron Don came in for his second win of the evening. The winning time was in 2.04.2. Rob Ron Don is owned by Steve Allen of Orono and in sven starts this year has had three wins. Gerald Robinson -was fourth with Lilli Mac Ann.on Thursday as well as third with Arkansas Traveller. On Saturday Junior West placed second with Sonic Express in the seventh while Derek Newman was fourth with Challenge and Gord Irwin eighth with Aramac Egan in the same race. West also placed third in the ninth driving Leo's Dominion while Gord Irwin was close behind in fourth place .with Place M^t. The open meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on June 9 in the Bowmanville Public Library Library on Temperance Street in Bowmanville. Coffee and doughnuts doughnuts will be served. The Newcastle game is being co-ordinated by the Visual Arts Centre in co-oper ation ÿith groups and individuals individuals throughout the town. It is supported by a Wintario grant from the Ministry of Culture and Recreation. It is part; of the province wide cultural Olympic celebration of the 1976 summer Olympic games in Montreal.
