They were accompanied by Mr. W. Cane a grade 5 and 6 teacher at Lockhart and Mrs. G. Greenwood, the principal of Lockhart as well as two parents, Mrs. McDonnell and Mrs. Goodmurphy. In the morning the pupils watched a film about a typical; day in the life of a soldiers and officers at Fort York in 1816. Later, the students were given a guided tour of the Fort. * They had lunch at McDon- EXAMS As Clarke's school year ends - exams are approaching. approaching. Students must have a 50 per cent average in each subject before they are exempt exempt in the subject. Ten days are allowed for absentees and after the 10 days gone, their: exemption mark goes up one mark per day. Exams begin June 8 and they are finished on June 18. On Thursday, june 17, 1976 there will be a track meet at Orono Fair Grounds. All students up to grade 6 from Newcastle, NewtonviHe, Orono, Lockhart, Kirby and Kendal will participate. Eight trophies will be presented to the best 8 competitors according according to their age. Each student may enter the maximum of 5 events. The events will be running races, standing broad jump, high jump, ball throw and shot put. Mothers from Kendal Kendal will have a booth at the grounds and they will be serving refreshments. Chairman Entwisle called for a second vote which was recorded 6 to 3 but here the Chairman stated the Mr. Hammond could not change his vote from the original and called it a 5-4 vote in favour of the motion.
