The matter came before council when Mr. Kilpatrick, of the plumbing department requested that he be allowed to take one week of his 1976 holidays and apply them to holidays in 1977, January and February. It was also pointed out in the discussion that during the winter months the department was not as busy as in the summer. , , Mr. Roy Foster, representative from Hope Township on the Ganaraska Region, Conservation Authority, has tendered his resignation, effective June 18th. This action by Mr. Foster stemmed from the conduct of the Hope Township council who were critical of a tree planting project in the Cobourg Conservation Area. Mr. Foster felt that, council showed a lack of confidence in his judgement as a member of the authority and further had not called on him or any member of the authority to explain the project. Hope Township's concerns were only found in the' local press. Mr. Roy Forrester, chairman of the Authority, has id that Mr. Foster's resignation will be a big loss to the authority as he was a most activé and,concerned member as well as chairman of the Conservation Area Committee. "Its an unfortunate loss", he said. < ' Mr. Warren Lowes speaking speaking on behalf of the SEAP group in the Port Granby area spoke to council on Monday asking for assurances against any development of a nuclear processing plant, or extension to the Port Granby dump from council. Mf. Lowes pointed out that the people in the Port Granby area were concerned for health and real estate values if such as the processing plant were constrcuted in the area. He also stated to council that the group had received conflicting conflicting information from some sources pertaining to the development. The spokesman for SEAP asked a number of questions from council including if they \yere negotiating with Eldorado Eldorado for the placement of the refining plant in the municipality municipality or encouraging them to do so in anyway. If the answer to the question was "Yes" they wanted to know the reason. He also asked why some were sitting on the fence on this issue?
