Wednesday, August 4th. 1976 Town Council Briefs ORONO LEÇT OUT OF SIDEWALK STUDY Council on Tuesday evening was considering a recommendation recommendation from Mayor Rickard Rickard concerning a study for a sidewalk program in the Town of Bowmanville. He asked that the sidewalk in the business section as well as sidewalks from the Waverley Garden area be given high priority. At this point the political infighting began to show with Counc. Hobbs repeatedly asking asking the intention of the Mayor and what plans he had in mind. Counc. Lyall suggested that perhaps council should adjourn until after the election election this fall. CALLING LIQUOR VOTE FOR DARLINGTON The Town: of Newcastle council on Tuesday evening gave approval to a request to hold a liquor vote for the former Township of Darlington. Darlington.
