In the following race the Grant Malley horse, Marymo Jay took the win. Junior West also placed third in the opening feature with Jada while the Gerald.Rainey horse, Penny Van Echo, driven by W,. Hannah finished in fifth place. Jack Williams placed fifth with his own horse, Harwil Pete in the fourth. Three impressive wins were registered registered on Thursday night at the Kawartha' by local entries. In the third race Bill Reid's Blade placed first while in the fifth Arapiac Egan, owned by Watkins and tacey paid $19.10 for its win in 2.07.2 In the "eighth race E. A. Merrick drove his own horse tô à win paying $18.10 and with & time of 2.06.3. Junior West finished second with Mooreland's Goldie in the seventh as well as third with Sun Brier Bob in the sixth race. Saturday night at the Kawartha was Orono night when local merchants donated coolers to - the winning horses and awards to the winning drivers. Although it was Orono night it did not appear so in the winner's circle. Gerald Robinson did however take a yin in the opening race driving Golden Herbert: In the third race Junior West was fourth with Lilli MacA,nn while Don Lycett made a claim of the second nlace finisher, Chuckie Lind.
