18^-Ortmo Weekly Times, Wednesday, September 8th, 1976 Record entry in Orono flower show • A record number of, entries featured the annual flower show of the Orono Horticultural Horticultural Society held Thursday, Aug.' 26th in Orono United Church. Exhibitors faced tough ' competition in all classes and the judges,, Mr, and Mrs. Clarence Tink, surely needed all their exper-! ience and knowledge to select the winning numbers. The President, Mrs. Joan Couvier, expressed her great pleasure at the large attendance attendance and thanked everyone who had assisted in preparing the show. Mrs. Challice, on behalf of the society, presented presented a diploma to Mr. and Mrs. Wes Wood in recognition of many years of meritorious service'to horticulture. It was .evident from tne applause following the presentation that everyone present felt the award was richly deserved. Apple, Black Cherry, Hid ory, Sugar Maple and RetD Oak have the best coaling qualities for the fireplace or furnace.
