Over the past few years the motorized Van ■ has taken on a new popularity as a mode of travel and recreational vehcile and this coupled with individual ingenuity of the owners has added even further interest Van "buffs" were.out in force over the past weekend weekend at Mosport Park for what may be called a, Van Roll-In. * Vans were there in all sizes, all makes and each depiciting the ingenuity of its owner. They were there from Ontario, Quebec and many of the States of the United States as well as one Van Club from the City of Oshawa. Mosport was ablaze with color as each Van had its own paint job and were continually being cleaned and polished. The scenes and physchodelic patterns on the exteriors of the Vans were far from being stereotyped stereotyped and varied with the desires and moods of the owners. The interiors were something else and the range of design and emphases emphases was on an individual individual basis., Interiors were fitted with kitcnenettes, beds and even to a having bars, decorative decorative fireplaces, tables and chandeleires. Most housed complex stereo systems as well as CB radios. The Vans were certainly a far cry from their original intent of being a delivery wagon. A program of activities were planned for the outing including judging of the /ans for various points of design and workmanship. It was an all-new world for Mosport which gave an insight into a new trend in our society at the present pi k v< *$*<*■ » Some owners have over $20,000 tied up in their vans 1 this interior complete with dining area and chan- deleire along with a bed on the . right hand, of the picture is evident that a lot of money is being spent on' this new hobby. Although it cannot be seen in this interior shot this vgn is equipped with well oveç a thousand dol lars in stereo equipment; It has its O'X'n fireplace. The bu.cket ( seats, well uphol- steed with leather can be used for both travelling while driving and while ' passing a few social hours before the fireplace.
