8--Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, Ôcotber 27th, 1976 This week's article will be about all the fine clothes that have been donated to us lately; in fact, there have been so many good examples of the changes in fashions that , we may be making a special display of them next season. One of the most comprehensive comprehensive collections we received this year came from the Greenwood family from Mrs. Linda Evans. Although some articles were from an earlier date, most of the clothing - for example the embroidered suit and the long velour coat - seems to date around World War 1. Mrs. Gerald Duvall sent us some fine examples of 1920's styles evening dresses; two of these were made in a beautifully beautifully silky velvet, the others of lace. John de Witt found another pair of boots for us - this time a child's size pair of cloth- lined black leather. Mrs. W. ' M. Price of Cobourg generously donated some clothing, including two delightful "accessories" - a crocheted hood with a fancy cape-like frill from the back, and an embroidered silk bag of pale yellow. And we received another example of head-vVear from Mrs. Norma Lee - a child's summer bonnet of fine cotton and lace - as well as an elaborately tucked ladies' dress dickey. These units, like any other residential accomodation, must meet with the standards of the Ontario building code, the electrical code, the plum bing code as well as any by-law of the municipality. According to the report, over 90 per cent of the mobile homes built in Canada are constructed to CSA standards. standards. There are also concern expressed in the report in regards to fire safety. The firè safety in mobilè homes is apparently rated lower than conventionally built homes. The average fire loss for these homes across Canada is 65 per cent higher the report notes. The report stresses that mobile homes are not a form of low cost housing, and are the use is not short lived. "While the units may come and go the underground services represent a sizable sized investment," the report stated.
