Col. R. S. McLaughlin, who died at the age of 100 in 1972 and was the first president of General Motors of Canada in Oshawa, was named to the hall of fame as was Edwin J. Umphrey, who died in 1965. Mr. Umphrey was at one time assistant general sales manager for all GM car and truck lines and eventually became director of GM of Canada.
