fi-Orono'Weekly Times, Wednesday, January 3rd, 1979 Kenda I News It is most unusual to have a January thaw on the first day of January. Other years we have always looked forward to, the January thaw. Let us hope for another one this year. We had several visitors with us at the morning service. The flowers at- the altar were in memory of Mr, John Thompson. Rev. .A. Tizzard read the scripture from St. John 16: 1-15, "We pilgrims like the King George VI need a guide to lead us into the new year". In John 16, verse 13, "When the spirit of truth is come, it shall guide you". Christ with his spirit will be with them. As we look back, some years have been good years. The years the prodigal son spent away from home were lost years. Christ will be the lamp unto our feet and the light to our path. We know the path is there. Why fear tomorrow, we only need to know today. Not one little bird falls ' to the -ground without the fathers knowledge. knowledge. We krfow he is not far from any one of us. Cook onions and turnips together. One flavours the other. The turnips are especially especially good this year because of the September rains.
