Guest skater Sandra Boyce dance at the annual skating of Peterborough thrilled the show in Orono; hundreds Who were inatten- Skating carnival thrills hundreds It was fjttiijg that the Orono Figure Skating Club should chose as their theme for the 1979 anrfual carnival "Children "Children from Around the World", this being the year we celebrate the "International Year of the Child". Seating capacity at the arena was almost completely taken for both performances with however Saturday being a greater sell out than on Sunday. \ The younger set of the club were a joy for the hundreds in attendance and the senior, intermediate and junior members presented some Stirling performances, The audience were treated with â stirring opening with the flags from around the world with the remainder of the program taking them to Romania,, Spain, Holland, Jamaica, Austria, France, England, Irelepd, the U.S., Mexico, Switzerland, Arabia and Canada. Guest skaters also provided further entertainment for a well balanced program. The annual show was a credit, to the performers, to the club and to all those who must have assisted in the presentation and the preparation preparation of the many cçlourful costumes. The Maypole number proved proved an exciting feature of the carnival with girl guides providing a most interesting performance. ' ill!
